Digital Video [Randomly Sequenced & Looped] on 9cm LCD Screen, Sound

‘the disconnect’ is composed of a collection of randomly sequenced video fragments captured on an old digital camera with a damaged CCD sensor. Water’s constantly shifting surface moves light into the camera lens rhythmically, where it is transformed through electronic distortion, producing shifting fields of purple colours, interference, and glitched, digitised abstraction.
Presented on a small screen, the work encourages close viewing and questions modern lenses of perception and the increasingly indirect ways in which we encounter the world.
