‘talking to fossils about the passage of time’ traces deep time through encounters with fossilised ammonites and snails found embedded within the chalk at Peacehaven. These forms are defined by both time and erosion, taking shape over extreme durations before gradually fading away. Through slow observation, the fossils are approached as material carriers of information, preserving records of processes and events that extend far beyond human timescales.

The changing light over the sea operates in complete contrast compared to the temporal density of the fossils. It exists within a different order of time -  one that is immediate. The flickering light moving over the waves is fleeting and unstable. It remains in constant motion, always in flux.

Shot on expired Super 8 film and hand-developed, the images possesses an intense grain and distant muted blue-ish tone, carrying its own instability, mirroring the erosion and temporal shifts it records.
